Location:               UK - London

Remuneration:      TBA

Employment:        Permanent contract / Full Time

Job search launch date: July 08, 2021

This London based asset management company, specialising in the field of structured credit, is looking for a candidate to join its front office investment team in London as an Investment Analyst reporting to the Senior PM.

The business holds global investment mandates covering a wide range of structured credit transactions, from simple ABS to more complex credit structures including those backed by Leverage Loans (CLOs), Commercial Real Estate (CRE), non-performing loans (NPL) and more esoteric collateral such as aircraft leases.

Whilst on the job training and support will be provided, applicants should have a solid understanding of structured credit as an asset class as well as 2 – 3 years’ experience analysing ABS transactions such as those backed by RMBS, CMBS, Auto Lease and Consumer Credit collateral.  A wider interest in financial markets as well as the broader characteristics of structured credit collateral i.e. corporate risk, real estate, financial and consumer exposure would also be beneficial.

The diverse risk profile of the firms’ mandates also means the role requires the candidate to become comfortable looking at less liquid (higher risk) investment opportunities.  As such, the analyst role will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to for personal development in this diverse asset class.

Although not a core requirement of the role, a candidate comfortable using Python, SQL or similar to help with on-going development of proprietary front office tools would be considered favourably.

Progression in the role will require registration with the FCA and the successful applicant will therefore be expected to work towards an industry recognized qualification, such as the CFA, for which financial support will be provided.

In the execution of the role, the successful applicant will be expected to undertake a range of duties including;

  • assessment, modelling and reporting on risks within Structured Finance transactions owned or under consideration by the investment team,

  • preparation and presentation of marketing materials

  • interaction with clients and market counterparts,

  • limited UK and overseas travel, predominantly to attend relevant industry conferences but also in support of wider desk activities where appropriate

The successful candidate will:

  • have a recent track record in structured credit

  • possess a keen interest in finance and have strong quantitative skills

  • be a motivated, organised self-starter with strong communications skills

  • work well within a team but be able to take independent initiative and responsibility
